Staff will discuss Jacobson's concerns with the contractor. <br /> <br />Carol Sylvester, 1619 5th St. NW, questioned the road narrowing and noted concern of the park <br />entrance not aligned properly after the narrowing. Proper believes the narrowing will calm traffic <br />and allow pedestrian travel, but will rcsearch the issue raised about the park entrance <br />configuration. Sweeley requested public works crews monitor this area during icy conditions. <br /> <br />Bob Wright, 188S lnca Ln., sup~orts the road narrowing, and strongly suggested installation of a <br />stop sign at the intersection at 5t1 St./lnca Ln. to allow children a safe walk to school. Larson <br />requested the Public Safety Commission study the installation of stop signs at the intersection of <br />5th St. and Inca Ln. and the Hansen Park entrance. <br /> <br />Motion by Samuelson, seconded by Hoffman, to CLOSE THE HEARING. <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nays, Motion Carried. <br /> <br />Motion by Samuelson, seconded by Sweeley, to WAIVE THE READING AND ADOPT THE <br />RESOLUTION ORDERING THE PROJECT AND PREP ARA TION OF PLANS AND <br />SPECIFICATIONS FOR PROJECT 02-1, STREET RECONSTRUCTION. <br /> <br />15 Ayes - 0 Nays, Mot;on Carried. <br /> <br />Council Business <br /> <br />Doc Smith, Project Manager, presented the bids received tor Bid Package A for the Public Safety <br />Facility. Bid Package A includes two divisions; one for the precast hollow core concrete plank, <br />and one which includes concrete, earthwork, building demolition, site clearing, and rough <br />carpentry. Smith was very pleased with the bids received, and the work is scheduled to begin <br />April 8,2002. Proper noted the completion of the acquisition process for the seven properties <br />necessary for the Public Safety Facility Construction. <br /> <br />Motion by Hoffman, seconded by Samuelson, to AWARD THE FOLLOWING PORTIONS <br />OF BID PACKAGE A FOR THE PUBLIC SAFETY FACILITY TO MARCY <br />CONSTRUCTION IN THE AMOUNT OF $823,600.00 FOR NB1-03-1 BID PORTION; <br />AWARD THE BID TO MOLIN CONCRETE PRODUCTS IN THE AMOUNT OF <br />$184,365.00 FOR NB1-03-2 BID PORTION; RECOMMEND TO HOLD ON MARCY <br />CONSTRUCTION BID IN THE AMOUNT OF $10,000.00 FOR NBI-03-1 ALTERNATE A <br />- CONFINED SPACE BID AWARD TO AFTER MARCH 21, 2002 BIDS; AND REJECT <br />MARCY CONSTRUCTION BID IN THE AMOUNT OF $20,000.00 FOR NBI-03-1, <br />ALTERNATE B - HAUL BALANCE OF EXCESS SOILS TO OWNERS SITE, <br /> <br />S Ayes - 0 Nays, Motion Carried. <br /> <br />I. Fin~nc~ Director Dan Maiers presented the resolution author~zin? for the calling of Genera. I <br />ObhgatlOn Improvement Bonds.
