It would be easy to sit back and rest, but the future of New Brighton depends <br />on a strong continued effort to stay proactive. I applaud the citizens ofNB for electing Arty, <br />Ann, Kim and me this past November and realizing that we are working for you and along <br />with Char will continue to do so as Team 2000. I must also thank Ann, Arty and Kim for <br />their efforts this fall. A special thank you to Mayor Bob Benke for his outstanding <br />leadership and dedication to NB for the past 22 years. Bob, you truly left your footprints <br />throughout NB and we all will benefit from your leadership. <br /> <br />I would also like to thank staff for their outstanding work this past year. The staff, <br />employees, volunteer Fire Department members, board and commission members and the <br />volunteers in New Brighton make this community second to none. You are all to be <br />commended on ajob well done. Volunteers are the background ofthe community and we <br />have the best in New Brighton. Thanks for saying yes when asked to participate and doing <br />such a good job. <br /> <br />We have already started our next series ofNOP grid meetings and will be holding the 23rd <br />Town Hall Meeting March 25th at the Family Service Center. Please take time out to <br />participate, look for issues addressed in "In the Neighborhood", watch council and planning <br />commission meetings on cable, watch programs on CTV and stay informed. A special thanks to my partners Arty, <br />Char, Ann and Kim. I am proud to be your Mayor and look forward to serving all of you. <br /> <br />C. As we go <br />forward into the new millennium, let us look globally and draw from everywhere to meet the <br />local needs of New Brighton.
