In April 1997,
the water service at 557 3rd Ave. began leaking and needed repair. Property owners are
responsible for repair and maintenance because the service is the plumbing between the
municipal watermain and the house. The total repair cost was $2,875, and was
determined to be an immediate financial hardship for the homeowner. As a result, the
City paid the contractor and special assessed that cost against the property per the
homeowners request. This gives the homeowner the advantage of paying for these
repairs over a ten year period.

There were no comments from the audience.

Motion by Gunderman, seconded by Samuelson, to CLOSE THE PUBLIC
HEARING.

4 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried.

Motion by Rebelein, seconded by Gunderman, to WAIVE THE READING AND
ADOPT THE RESOLUTION APPROVING THE SPECIAL ASSESSMENTS FOR
PROJECT 97-14,557 3RD AVENUE NW WATER SEWER REPAIR.

4 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried.

Public Hearing

Assessments for
Project 96-1
Project 96-4
Project 97-14
Report 97-214
Resolution 97-067
Resolution 97-068
Resolution 97-069
Resolution 97-070
Resolution 97-071
Resolution 97-072
