Andrews noted their Shoreview <br />facility also houses the Red Cross Blood Bank and the Lutheran Church Ministry Board. <br /> <br />David Everest, NWYFS Program Director, explained New Brighton's program activity <br />report, and noted the need to expand the community service restitution program. <br />However, one problem is locating individuals to supervise the restitution activities. <br /> <br />Benke asked if the number of needy customers is increasing. Everest said there has been <br />a dramatic increase for diversion services. Benke asked if the Search Institute data <br />would show positive outcomes contributed from such services. Everest is impressed <br />with Benke's leadership in the Youth Coalition, and believes it will heighten the <br />community's ability to connect and work with youth in positive ways.. <br /> <br />Regarding C. W. Marketing's peddler permit application, Gunderman asked what <br />products will be sold. Mike Molitorius, C. W. Marketing, said the company was <br />founded in 1986 to provide income for college students and provide training in sales and <br />marketing. They intend to sell coupon books for Plaza Cleaners. Molitorius requested <br />the dates of the one month permit be changed. Benke verified that the primary <br />salespersons would be University of Minnesota college students. <br /> <br />Motion by Larson, seconded by Samuelson, to ISSUE A PEDDLERS PERMIT TO C. <br />W. MARKETING SERVICES, INC. FOR A 30-DAY PERIOD TO BE LATER <br />DETERMINED BY THE CITY MANAGER AND POLICE CHIEF. <br /> <br />4 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried. <br /> <br />Gunderman asked why the handbill distribution application for BioTech originally stated <br />the applicant as Dominion Business Promotions. Fulton confirmed that BioTech is not <br />associated with Dominion.
