Street Reconstruction - 8:41-8:45 p.m. <br /> <br />Proper explained that Project 95-3 consists of the reconstruction of the following streets: <br />Erin Ct. (Silver Lk. Rd. to cul-de-sac); Long Lk. Ct. (Long Lk. Rd. to cul-de-sac); <br />Mississippi Circ.; Mounds Ave. (Silver Lk. Rd. to Long Lk. Rd.); Oriole Ave. <br />(Mississippi St. to Valley View Ln.); Rainbow Ave. (Mississippi St. to Valley View <br />Ln.); Thorndale Ave. (Mississippi St. to Valley View Ln.); Thorndale AVe. (Rice Creek <br />Rd. to cul-de-sac); Violet Ln. (Mounds Ave. to Mississippi St.); and Violet Ct. <br /> <br />The project includes removal of old bituminous surfacing, installation of storm sewer <br />and watermain, sanitary sewer repair, street excavation and grading, aggregate base, <br />concrete curb and gutter, bituminous surfacing, and boulevard repair. The 185 lots will <br />be assessed on a per lot basis for the street and curb and gutter. Corner lots are assessed <br />if their short side faces or abuts a street improvement. The City will pay the assessment <br />for lots with existing concrete curb and gutter for 5 lots on Erin Ct. at Creekview Pk. <br />The assessment rates are as follows: existing concrete curb and gutter - $653.68/lot; <br />existing bituminous curb - $1,144.47/10t; and no existing curbing - $1,793.63/lot. <br /> <br />A 30' storm sewer was replaced from Erin Ct. to the railroad tracks, and the storm <br />sewer on Mississippi St. was extended from Thorndale AVe. to Oriole Ave. The total <br />for storm sewer work is $88,334.93; and will be paid from the storm water utility fund. <br />Before construction, sanitary sewer mains were repaired in two locations. The total cost <br />for these repairs is $8,790.50, and will be paid from the sanitary sewer utility fund. <br />The corroded watermain on Mounds Ave. between Thorndale and Violet was replaced. <br />The total amount of this work is $32,347.91 and will be paid by the water utility fund. <br /> <br />Larson, whose property will be assessed through this project, was glad to see the project <br />came in under the estimated assessment.
