He asked the <br />CAC to look at visual enhancements to Council meeting presentations. <br /> <br />Special Order of <br />Business <br /> <br />CAC Presentation <br /> <br />Public Policy Commission (PPC) Chair Dee Lere, introduced members: Ted Chien, PPC Report <br />Marritta Gould, Nelson Hard, Gary Hartlaub, Gary Horn, 10 Matson, and Brett <br />Reynolds. The PPC is made up of 9 members, and currently there is a vacancy. The <br />PPC advises Council on public policy issues. The PPC researches issues and carries <br />out specific projects; identifies policies that need change; and organizes and hosts the <br />Town Hall Meeting. The PPC researched the following issues in 1995: marketing <br />and selection of advisory commission members; formulation of a program to identify, <br />develop, and promote opportunities for volunteer/leaders; and hosting of the Town <br />Hall meeting. The 1995 Town Hall meeting focused on "How to Build a Better <br />Community" and featured keynote speaker Jim Klobuchar. The community fair <br />consisted of 25 community groups and was a huge success. PPC welcomes the <br />responsibilities of Town Hall and agrees to maintain ownership of future meetings. <br /> <br />Larson is the PPC Council Liaison and commended the commissioners and Staff <br />Liaison Pat Lindquist for their tremendous work. <br /> <br />Consent A~enda <br /> <br />Motion by Samuelson, seconded by Williams, to APPROVE THE CONSENT <br />AGENDA ITEMS AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />1. <br /> <br />CONSOLIDATED VOUCHERS: 051376-051535 FOR A GRAND <br />TOTAL OF $218,642.64. <br /> <br />2. <br /> <br />CONSIDERATION OF APPROVAL OF THE SPECIFICATIONS AND <br />AUTHORIZATION FOR BIDS OF FIVE IN-CAR VIDEO SYSTEMS. <br /> <br />3. <br /> <br />CONSIDERATION OF APPROVAL TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY <br />MANAGER TO EXECUTE LETTER OF INTENT COMMITTING <br />NEW BRIGHTON TO THE RAMSEY COUNTY JOINT RECORDS <br />SYSTEM. <br /> <br />4. <br /> <br />CONSIDERATION OF APPROVAL TO AUTHORIZE PURCHASE OF <br />8 PANASONIC CF-V41, CF-41FT52 FAM LAPTOP COMPUTERS, <br />EXTENDED PRICE OF $29,280 PLUS TAX AND SlDPPING. <br /> <br />CONSIDERATION OF APPROVAL TO WAIVE THE FIRST AND <br />SECOND READING AND ADOPT AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AN <br />ORDINANCE RELATING TO ADVISORY COMMISSIONS TO <br />PROVIDE FOR COMMISSIONER TERMS TO EXPIRE JANUARY 31. <br /> <br />5. <br /> <br />6. <br /> <br />CONSIDERATION OF APPROVAL TO AWARD THE BID FOR <br />IMPROVEMENT PROJECT 95-13, TREND ENTERPRISES <br />WATERMAIN RELOCATION,TO WIDMER, INC., CONTINGENT <br />UPON RECEIVING THE SIGNED PETITION AND WAIVER <br />AGREEMENT FROM TREND ENTERPRISES, INC., IN THE <br />AMOUNT OF $33,427.90. <br /> <br />Consent A~enda <br /> <br />Vouchers <br />Report 95-202 <br /> <br />5 In-car Video <br />Systems <br />Report 95-203 <br /> <br />Joint Records <br />Management System <br />Report 95-204 <br /> <br />Purchase of 8 laptop <br />computers for squads <br />Report 95-205 <br /> <br />Advisory <br />Commissions <br />Ordinance <br />Amendment <br />Report 95-206 <br />Ordinance 617 <br /> <br />Trend Watermain <br />Relocation <br />Report 95-207 <br />
