Benke asked if the intersection could be made into a "T" <br />shape instead of its current "Y"shape. Proper said the only street work proposed in <br />this area is curb repair. The County reviewed the traffic pattern and did not perceive <br />it as a problem intersection, but will review opportunities. <br /> <br />Larson asked if traffic speeds on 10th St. have changed since signs were installed. <br />Proper noted the signs have always been in place. Wyttenbach feels the signs are not <br />noticeable and suggested flashing lights. <br /> <br />There were no other comments from the audience. <br /> <br />Motion by Gunderman, seconded by Larson, to CLOSE THE PUBLIC HEARING. <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried. <br /> <br />Hearing was closed at 9:20 p.m. <br /> <br />Motion by Williams, seconded by Samuelson to WAIVE THE READING AND <br />ADOPT THE RESOLUTION APPROVING THE PROJECT AND <br />AUTHORIZING PREPARATION OF PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS AND <br />ACQUISITION OF RIGHT -OF-WAY; WAIVE THE READING AND ADOPT <br />THE RESOLUTION APPROVING JURISDICTIONAL CHANGE OF 7TH ST. <br />NW FROM SILVER LAKE ROAD TO 8TH AVE.; WAIVE THE READING <br />AND ADOPT THE RESOLUTION APPROVING THE JURISDICTIONAL <br />CHANGE OF 10TH ST. NW FROM 5TH AVE. TO I-35W; WAIVE THE <br />READING AND ADOPT THE RESOLUTION PLACING 10TH ST. NW FROM <br />5TH AVE. TO I-35W ON THE MSA STREET SYSTEM; WAIVE THE <br />READING AND ADOPT THE RESOLUTION DESIGNATING ORNAMENTAL <br />STREET LIGHT STANDARDS; AND WAIVE THE READING AND ADOPT <br />THE RESOLUTION APPROVING THE USE OF MSA FUNDS FOR 5TH AVE. <br />NW RECONSTRUCTION. <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried. <br /> <br />Samuelson thanked staff for their work and looks forward to the project's completion. <br /> <br />Public Hearing - 9:20-9:30 p.m. - Lawcon Grant <br /> <br />Park and Recreation Director Maurie Anderson presented for consideration the <br />Lawcon Grant application. <br /> <br />If received, the Lawcon Grant would develop a nature trail and wildlife observation <br />stations on the marsh at the Family Service Center.
