Telesquirter Fire Vehicle.

The five year financial plan included a provision for the replacement of a 1975 fire
pumper. However, during the development of the five year plan, the Fire Chief
Mark Frieden presented a recommendation to replace this vehicle with a telesquirter
pumper. Frieden suggested the vehicle be placed in service in 1997, instead of
1998. The anticipated cost for the telesquirter is $400,000. If Council approves the
preparation of plans and specs, a Fire Department committee would develop the
specs by year-end. Delivery would take about 12-18 months.

Fulton noted that over the past four years, the number of fire calls have increased.
The Department has ladder capacity, but it is manual with a capacity of a 35 ft. and
requires manual setup which could be associated with firefighter injuries. Current
construction practices require a faster response time which the telesquirter would be
beneficial.

Council Business

Purchase of PC
Network
Report 95-027

Settlement of 555 Old
Hwy 8, Christensen
Property
Report 95-028

Telesquirter Fire
Vehicle
Report 95-029
