To better
accommodate those interested businesses, the vacation would add
approximately 16,000 sq. ft. to the site.

Benke verified that there is still ample right-of-way remaining for the City.
The parcel is located on the north end of Old Highway 8, north of Highway
96, next to the New Brighton City limits boundary.

Williams requested that more user friendly maps be used in future
presentations.

There were no comments from the audience.

Motion by Gunderman, seconded by Benke, to CLOSE THE HEARING.

5 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried.

Hearing was closed at 9:30 p.m.

Motion by Gunderman, seconded by Williams, to WAIVE THE READING
AND ADOPT THE RESOLUTION APPROVING THE VACATION OF A
PORTION OF THE OLD HIGHWAY 8 RIGHT-Of-WAY.

5 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried.

The meeting was temporary adjourned at 9:35 p.m.

Meeting was reconvened at 9:40 p.m.

Council Business

Acting City Manager Barbara Jeanetta presented the City/School District
agreement for construction and operation of a Family Service Center.

The Mounds View District #621 School Board has agreed in principle to join
the City in building a Family Service Center. The Center will house the
school district family programs; New Brighton Parks Department, Northwest
Youth and Family Services, and private rehab therapy.

Building a cooperative Family Center has become more complicated
because of the involvement of more than one organization. To build a
workable venture, staff and attorneys have negotiated an agreement to
outline terms of design, constructions, costs, ownership, maintenance, and
sale of the Center and disputes between owners.

Public Hearina

Old Hwy 8 & 35W
Street Vacation
Report 93-247
Resolution 93-110

Council Business

Family Service
Center
Agreement
Report 93-249
