<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Council Meeting Minutes <br />July 27, 1993 <br /> <br />Page 4 <br /> <br />Council Business. continued <br /> <br />Williams noted that one condition in the report relates to expansion of the privacy <br />fence and/or the planting of evergreens on the northeast comer of the site. <br /> <br />Bob Smith, Applicant, noted that townhome residents use the small access to walk <br />their dogs, a passageway to the shopping center, and a pathway to catch school <br />buses. He offered to relocate or provide screening for the other dumpster. <br /> <br />Motion by Williams, seconded by Gunderman, to WAIVE TIlE READING AND <br />ADOPr TIlE RESOLUTIONS APPROVING SP-179 AND NC-92; AND <br />APPROVE LP-277 SUBJECT TIlE FOLWWING CONDmONS: <br />I. APPROVAL OF SP-179 AND NC-92. <br />2. EXPANSION OF THE DUMPSTER. ENCWSURE TO CONTAIN ALL <br />DUMPSTERS ON SITE. <br />3. EXPANSION OF TIlE PRIVACY FENCE AND/OR TIlE PLANTING <br />OF EVERGREENS ON THE NORTHEAST CORNER OF THE SITE. <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried. <br /> <br />Mattila presented a request for a special use permit to amend the sign plan for a <br />multi-tenant building. <br /> <br />The proposed amendment to the sign plan for 151 Silver Lake Road allows: change <br />the name of the building to "Silver Wood Corporate Center - A Business <br />Community"; the existing ground sign would include two 3.5 x 7 ft. signs and seven <br />14 inch x 8 ft. signs; a 4 x 6 ft. sign placed on the west wall identifying the <br />building; and a 5 x 10 ft. canopy with signage identifying "Ark Pet Hospital" on the <br />south wall of the building. <br /> <br />The proposed plan would serve to identify the commercial structure and improve the <br />appearance of the entrance area. The impact on the proposed signage on <br />surrounding land uses would be minimal. <br /> <br />Benke feels this sign plan will be an attractive addition to the area. <br /> <br />Motion by Gunderman, seconded by Larson, to WAIVE THE READING AND <br />ADOPT THE RESOLUTION APPROVING SP-177. <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried. <br /> <br />Mattila presented the site plan review to construct a 8,500 sq. ft. addition onto the <br />existing Printing Enterprises building. <br /> <br />Printing Enterprises is a printing and production and warehouse company. The total <br />facility would be 27,340 sq. ft. with 9,000 sq. ft. devoted to production and 18,340 <br />sq. ft. devoted to warehouse. <br /> <br />The proposed addition complies with the district and parking ordinance standards. <br />The applicant proposes to continue using precast concrete curbing around all parking <br />and drive areas.
