I

I

I

Council Meeting Minutes
September 22, 1992

Page 9

Public Hearina. continued

Steve Feidt, 601 Fairfield, said his curved driveway will need to be
straightened because it will not meet the new street or conform with the
other driveways. He feels the project benefits only Mr. Halva and the other
two lots. Proper said the cost to correct the driveway is included in the
assessment, and a driveway plan will be completed in a few months. Staff
will work with Mr. Feidt on this matter.

Proper said at the time the Feidt lot was developed, the contractor tapped
into the sewer and water lines and was charged a hook-up fee in lieu of
assessments. The contractor was then notified that the property owner
would be charged street assessments when Fairfield was extended. Mr.
Feidt will be assessed only for street improvements.

Rebelein noted that, although Mr. Feidt is entitled to decide his driveway's
design, she feels the current driveway is attractive and would not correct it
if she owned the lot. Mr. Feidt feels that the curved driveway would not
conform to the straight street.

Bob Halva, 2261--7th St, did not realize that the adjustments made to the
existing storm sewer line from 23rd and Fairfield Drive will be included in
the project. Proper said the system requires this portion to operate.

There were no further comments from the audience.

Motion by Williams, seconded by Larson, to CLOSE THE HEARING.

5 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried.

Hearing was closed at 9:17 p.m.

Motion by Larson, seconded by Williams, to WAIVE THE READING AND
ADOPT THE RESOLUTION ORDERING PROJECT 92-13 AND AUTHORIZING
THE PREPARATION OF PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS.

5 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried.

Council adjourned temporarily at 9:20 p.m.

Council reconvened at 9:26 p.m.

Council Business

City Planner Erny Mattila presented a site plan review to construct a
24,150 square foot addition onto the existing Print Craft building.

Public Hearinc

Halva First
Improvements
Report 92-213
Resolution 92-109

Council Business

Print Craft Addition
Report 92-214
