Mr. Peterson said the pond will be constructed first so that <br />any drainage during the addition construction will be handled by the pond. <br /> <br />Gunderman feels the first priority is an immediate temporary solution to <br />eliminate backyard and street runoff, The short term solution should be <br />achieved within 60 days and include a recommended long term solution. <br />The long term solution could include acquisition of the forcemain sewer <br />pipe. <br /> <br />Motion by Gunderman. seconded by Benke, to DIRECT STAFF TO PREPARE <br />IMMEDIATE AND LONG TERM FEASIBILITY STUDIES TO SOLVE THE <br />DRAINAGE PROBLEMS GENERALLY IN THE DRAINAGE AREA FEEDING <br />INTO THE 7TH STREET NW. <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried <br /> <br />Benke requests staff to present a preliminary feasibility report at the May <br />12 Council meeting. <br /> <br />Council sang a rendition of "Happy Birthday" to Steve Larson. <br /> <br />Motion by Gunderman, seconded by Benke, to TEMPORARILY ADJOURN <br />THE MEETING. <br /> <br />5 Ayes. 0 Nayes, Motion Carried. <br /> <br />Meeting adjourned at 10:20 p.m. <br /> <br />Meeting reconvened at 10:25 p.m. <br /> <br />Park and Recreation Director Maurie Anderson presented the bid award or <br />construction of Hansen Park tennis courts. <br /> <br />Nine bids were received and ranged from $135.817 to Bel Air Builder's low <br />bid of $94,795, $11,000 under estimate. The estimate was higher than <br />contained in the 5 Year Plan because of the park's poor soil, demolishing <br />existing courts, and relocation and expansion of free skating area.
