The total
does not include the entrance feature landscaping. Most trees will be 2 to
3 inches in caliper and approximately 8 to 14 feet high. The varieties
include: red and white oak; sugar, red and Norway maples; little leaf
linden; pines; spruces; flowering crabapples; ironwood; and Japanese tree
lilac. The first 160 trees will be planted this fall between County Roads D
and E and from 1-694 to the Long Lake Park entrance.

City Forester Rick Wriskey said staff and the architects decided to plant
native trees such as, maple and oak. He is unsure what amount of
government funding will be available for future plantings, but the "America
the Beautiful" program and State LCMR's funding becomes available in
1992. New Brighton's Tree City status may help to attain funding. The
estimated annual maintenance cost for the first ten years will be $3,000
and could come from the above funding.

Consent Aaenda

Peddler License
Freedom North
Report 91~177

St. John Festival
Fees
Report 91-118

NB Superette
licenses
Report 91-119

liquor Residuals
Report 91 ~180
Resolution 91-081

Diagnostic
Analyzer
Report 91-181

Pipe Trestle Repair
Work
Report 91-182

Council Business

Old Highway 8
Greenway Plan
Report 91-183
