She has lived there
For 33 years and there has never been a problem with the green-
house. Motion carried.

Commissioner Livingston stated he was concerned with the setback
For parking in the Front and the Front yard garden center. It is
the policy of the City to ask commercial properties to provide
plantings in the Front of their property. He Felt this was
especially true For greenhouse. Would like to see this area
used For green space and not For parking. With the total
redesign of the greenhouses, he asked iF it would be possible to
move the greenhouses Further to the rear of the property and
provide parking in a diFFerent location.

Ms. DeYoung stated that the elimination of all Front yard parking
would be the death of their business. Front door parking is
necessary Tor a retail business. An average day in the month of
July through April there are usually no more than three customer
cars in the Front area at one time. Most of the cars on site are
employee cars.

Chairman Baker asked iF it was possible to eliminate the Front
yard parking directly adjacent to Old Highway 8 and put that
along the north side of the building.

Commissioner Livingston asked iF the employee parking could be
moved more to the rear of the property.

Ms. DeYoung commented it was the wholesale customers that usually
park along the north side of the building. She would be
uncomFortable eliminating all parking From the Front. Showed the
Planning Commission how the semi trucks manuevered on site and
how this would prohibit another 20 Feet of green area adjacent to
Old Highway 8.
