He also wondered how <br />New Brighton's numbers stand with Birthday Parties compared to other <br />communities. Breuer stated other communities are about 500 parties per year. <br /> <br />Commissioner comments about the new format were positive. Commissioner <br />Frischman stated it would be good to have them on Power Point so those <br />watching at home could read along. <br /> <br />Other discussion items: <br />. Boat launch monitor, still in the budget <br />. 12th Ave resident petition for parking by permit is on the November <br />14th Council agenda. It will go to the Public Safety Commission on <br />Nov 29th. Commission members are encouraged to attend. Disc golf <br /> <br />. . <br />Issues may arIse. <br />. Commissioners liked having various updates from department staff <br />informing them of program attendance, etc. They would like to <br />continue this practice. <br />. There was a meeting for those who had attended the Walkable <br />Community Workshops. It was a time to compare notes on what has <br />happened since the workshop and what hurdles each community is <br />facing. Most felt that the hiking and biking trails were not connecting. <br />From this meeting, it is felt that communication with Shoreview, <br />Arden Hills and Roseville would be beneficial. The "buzz word" was <br />connectivity. Also, there is a plan to have 1,000 benches along trail <br />systems with little slogans. Keep track of slogans now, so we have <br />them when needed. It would be nice to get a master of all the trails in <br />Ramsey County to have something to work off of. New Brighton <br />could develop an ordinance for how trails will fit into our already <br />developed City_ There is a list of criteria. <br />. Safe Routes to Schools - continue updates on grants, etc. It was noted <br />that mostly schools received the grants. We can continue to work with <br />the schools on this venture. A reminder was mentioned that part of St. <br />Anthony is in New Brighton. <br /> <br />Questions from the Commission: <br /> <br />. Cost owed to FSC from Family Academy <br />. Number of overnights held at the FSC this year. <br /> <br />This above questions will to be researched and sent out to the Commission <br />members. <br /> <br />B. <br /> <br />MRP A Minnesota Recreation and Parks Magazine <br />Breuer stated each commission member should be receiving the MRP A <br />Magazine, let her know if you are not receiving it.
