<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Lotter has indicated a desire to begin a professional teaching program while employed by the <br />City. This is acceptable to the City provided it does not interfere with his municipal duties and <br />subject to Council discussion and approval. <br /> <br />10. CIVIC CLUB MEMBERSHIP. <br /> <br />The City recognizes the desirability or representation in and before local civic and other <br />organizations. Lotter is authorized to become a member of such civic clubs or organizations <br />deemed appropriate by him and at the expense of the City. <br /> <br />11. TERMINATION AND SEVERANCE PAY. <br /> <br />In the event that Lotter is terminated by the City Council with or without cause, the City agrees <br />to pay Lotter a lump sum cash payment equal to six months pay as severance pay. In addition <br />to said severance pay, Lotter shall be paid for any unused vacation. No compensation shall be <br />given for unused sick leave as provided for department heads. However, in the event Lotter is <br />terminated because of his conviction for any felony of misfeasance, malfeasance, or nonfeasance <br />in office, Lotter will not be entitled to severance pay. <br /> <br />If Lotter voluntarily resigns his position with the City, Lotter agrees to give the City 45 days of <br />written notice. If Lotter voluntarily resigns his position with the City, there shall be no severance <br />pay due Lotter. In this event, Lotter will be paid for any unused vacation pay and sick leave at <br />the same rate allowed department heads with similar longevity. <br /> <br />12. GENERAL EXPENSES. <br /> <br />The City recognizes that certain expenses of a non-personal and job affiliated nature will be <br />incurred by Lotter. The City agrees to reimburse or to pay said expenses, subject to prior <br />Council approval. <br /> <br />13. HOURS OF WORK. <br /> <br />It is understood that the position of the City manager requires attendance at evening meetings <br />and occasionally at weekend meetings. It is understood by Lotter that additional compensation <br />and compensatory time shall not be allowed with reference to any such additional expenditures <br />of time. It is further understood that Lotter may absent himself from the office to a reasonable <br />extent in consideration of extraordinary time expenditures for evening and weekend meetings. <br /> <br />14. AUTOMOBILE. <br /> <br />Lotter shall be paid $400 per month to use his personal automobile for City business within the <br />Twin Cities Metropolitan Area.
