The <br />proposed ordi nance may i nvo 1 ve a haul er I s refusal to pi ckup, if <br />recyclables were found mixed in with regular trash. <br /> <br />Lynn Skripka, 2330 Erin Court, League of Women Voters President, <br />agrees wi th the goals in the pol icy statement, and suggests the <br />inclusion of one refuse hauler per district. <br /> <br />Ted Smith, 2005 Longview, said there is a need to educate residents <br />of what is recyclable. It would be time <br />consuming and expensive for the hauler to sift through trash to <br />retri eve recycl ab 1 es. Mr. Hockey noted that the best way to get <br />people to recycle is to make it as convenient as possible. <br /> <br />Michelle Vance, 648--19th Avenue NW, supports an organized system <br />and feels the main concern is to reduce the damaging effects to the <br />environment. <br /> <br />Dan Dahms, 675--4th Avenue NW, suggests that the County extend the <br />hours at the Arden Hills Composting site and that the City create <br />a recycling/drop-off site within the City which would be manned by <br />volunteers. <br /> <br />Joel Gainsly, 767--7th Avenue NW, suggested a one-time expense to <br />residents for the purchase of a recycling bin. <br /> <br />Public Hearing <br /> <br />Solid Waste Plan <br />Report 90-94 <br />Resolution 90-30 <br />
