These proposed taxes <br />were based on new information from Ramsey County and the School <br />District. Benke noted the figures presented at the December 18th <br />public hearing excluded the growth in market value and the School <br />District special levy referendum. The City dollar levy is being <br />changed only to cover the amount of state aid which was lost. <br /> <br />There were no comments from the audience. <br /> <br />Motion by Benke, seconded by Williams, to CLOSE THE PUBLIC HEARING. <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried <br /> <br />Motion by Gunderman, seconded by Larson, to WAIVE THE READING AND <br />ADOPT THE RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE 1990 BUDGET AND CERTIFYING THE <br />TAX LEVY. <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried <br /> <br />Childs will contact the editors of the New Brighton Bulletin and <br />the Focus to publish an article regarding the changes in their <br />newspapers. <br /> <br />With Council consent, Benke deferred Report #89-312A, Consideration <br />of Joint Powers Agreement with the Minnesota State Armory Building <br />Commission Covering Architectural Services. <br /> <br />LeFevere noted that the National Guard has requested the agreement <br />be deferred. The National Guard requested additional time to review <br />the document and make proposed changes. After LeFevere reviews the <br />Guard I s recommended changes, the document wi 11 be presented to <br />Council at the January 9th meeting.
