Benke supports this concept of enabling the chairs
to appoint members to subcommittees without Council approval.

Williams said there has been some discussion of the creation of a
Ilspeakers bureau" made up of members of the task force and staff
who would present updates to community/business groups.

Williams said the Steering Committee met with the architects on
October 10th and discussed timelines, site selection and financial
objectives.

Benke feels a monthly community center update at each Council
meeting would be informative.

Childs noted the next task force meeting will be held on October
19th and will include presentations by the architects.

Motion by ~lilliams, seconded by Larson, to APPOINT THE PARK BOARD
MEMBERS TO THE COMMUNITY CENTER TASK FORCE.

5 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried

Erny Matti 1 a, Ci ty Pl anner, presented the request for a mi nor
subdivision/rezoning for u.S.
