The trail would be eight feet wide bituminous and would
provide for hiking and biking traffic. Construction is expected to
bEgin this fall.

The project has been under consideration since 1986. Reasons for
the delay include almost two years of negotiations with United
Church of Chri st in regard to the 1 ocat; on and cost of a tra; 1
easement; uncertainty of the final design of Long Lake Road, and the
Ramsey County trail system. The church has agreed to the City
reconstruction of a portion of their driveway.

The plan has been presented to residents on three occasions with the
last meeting on April 5, 1989.
