Nesbett said that normally once <br />the designs are completed. the probability of funding is increased <br />immediately. Cox said the Guard is constantly researching the <br />availability of funds at the Pentagon and they will monitor this <br />process. <br /> <br />Wi 11 i ams suggested that a time schedul e shaul d be prepared to <br />document the upcoming procedures. <br /> <br />Cox said a project officer will be appointed to work with the City <br />and the consultant or architect to make sure the project stays on <br />schedule. <br /> <br />In order for the City to find a suitable location, Williams feels <br />a meeting should be scheduled with the Guard to discuss site <br />requirements. <br /> <br />Benke feels a task force should be selected to work with Council <br />and Ci ty staff to prepare the proposal. Three key subcommi ttees <br />suggested were: A site selection committee. community and program <br />needs committee. and a finance committee. <br /> <br />Benke has been contacted by Councilmember Winiecki of Arden Hills. <br />former State Representative Dan Knuth. Representative Dick Pellow. <br />Gayle Bromander of the New Brighton Historical Society and Ed <br />Walhoff. All have expressed their interest in serving on a task <br />force. <br /> <br />A member of the audi ence asked how the ci ty wi 11 determi ne the <br />needs of the community. <br /> <br />Benke suggested a market analysis of the types of facilities may be <br />a valuable source. <br /> <br />Benke feels the Council should begin the process of assigning task <br />force members. A task force sign-up list has been circulated <br />throughout the audience. <br /> <br />Brandt feels the upgradi ng of certain items shoul d be further <br />discussed. <br /> <br />The Council has informally designated Gunderman and Williams as <br />Council representatives on the project.
