Chair of the Economic Development Commission. <br />presented the Commission's 1988 activities report. <br /> <br />The 1988 EDC's activities included: <br /> <br />Co-hosted an exhibit with the Chamber of Commerce at the <br />Metro East Development Fair in June. <br /> <br />In July. hosted a Developers' Tour of key development and <br />redevelopment sites around the community. The tour was <br />attended by 36 representatives of developers and other <br />interested parties. <br /> <br />A videotape was created to promote and market the <br />community. The videotape was made possible with funds <br />from the Chamber, Tri-City American Legion. Lions and the <br />Ci ty. The premi ere showi ng of the tape wi 11 be in <br />February. <br /> <br />The City received recertification as a Star City. <br /> <br />Bus i ness retenti on surveys were conducted with maj or <br />manufacturing operations in the City. <br /> <br />Updated the annual Economic Development Work Plan. <br /> <br />The commission meetings were rescheduled to the fourth <br />Thursday of every other month at 5:00 p.m. <br /> <br />The 1988 EDC.s Development Projects included: <br /> <br />Construction of the Computerized Mailing Systems. Inc. <br />building in Brighton Corporate Park. The building is <br />approximately 20.000 sq. ft. and has an estimated market <br />value of $730.000. <br /> <br />Construction of the Golden Pond apartment building. This <br />building offers 82 rental units for adults over 55. <br />Construction is anticipated to be completed in early 1989 <br />with occupancy starting in Spring. 1989. <br /> <br />Completion and occupancy of Bramante's by the Lake. a 32 <br />unit luxury apartment project. <br /> <br />Council Business <br /> <br />Acceptance of Annual <br />Report of Economic <br />Development Commission <br />Report 89-18 <br />
