This would be broad <br />authority s opposed to the ad-hoc bonding authority that is <br />presently p ssible. <br /> <br />The Board would be given authority to subpoena witnesses, administer <br />oaths. tak testimony and requi re proof of evi dence when <br />investigati g its own operations, <br /> <br />The County auld be permitted to enter into joint powers agreements <br />as provided by state law. <br /> <br />The draftin committee is discussing the county's power to acquire <br />and dispose of property. especially as it relates to park and open <br />space prope ty. <br /> <br />Williams co mented that the local government bills which go through <br />the Governm nt Operations Committee to convey land are numerous. <br />Williams. ho monitors these committees. feels the Legislature <br />wastes tim monitoring these bills and feels the County could <br />improve thi area tremendously_ <br /> <br />The minutes of board meetings would be available in all city halls <br />and public libraries throughout the county within one week,after the <br />meeti ng. i sted in the mi nutes wi 11 be all votes taken by roll <br />call. <br /> <br />Wi 11 i ams suggested making the New Bri ghton City Counci 1 mi nutes <br />available i area libraries. <br /> <br />Council Business <br />
