Benke and the Council have received <br />the requeste financial documents from John Kelley, Chief of Police. <br />Benke has fund the contributions do meet the legal requirements. <br /> <br />Kelley expl ined, most of these contributions are made within the <br />New Brighton area, and sometimes an organization will pool funds and <br />make a larg r donation. <br /> <br />Brandt feel <br />to contribu <br />mentioned, <br />contribute <br /> <br />the Council should try to encourage these organizations <br />e a substantial amount to charitable purposes. Benke <br />he Council had previ ously encouraged organi zati ons to <br />o charitable purposes, but there is no written policy. <br /> <br />Kelley said, by State Statutes, organizations are directed to spend <br />10% within he community.
