<br />I <br /> <br />1 <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Council Mee ing Minutes <br />November 7, 1988 <br /> <br />Page 10 <br /> <br />Council Bus ness continued <br /> <br />Benke bega <br />Regional R <br />Committees, <br />Roger Blomq <br /> <br />the discussion of the appointment to Ramsey County <br />ilroad Authority's Intergovernmental and Technical <br />which included the following candidates: Ken Becker, <br />ist, Steve Jensen, Virginia Sande, Mike Livingston. <br /> <br />Benke had s oken to Larry Baker, Chairman, Planning Commission, who <br />is also a d legate on the Anoka County Regional Railroad Authority <br />Board; abou selecting an alternative delegate for this committee. <br />Benke feel the Ramsey County Committee should also have an <br />alternative delegate. <br /> <br />Benke ackno ledged, that each candidate had their own unique areas <br />of expertis which would be useful on this committee. Benke feels, <br />Steve Jense , Site Development Specialist, Deluxe Check, would have <br />the broader private business perspective, and Mr. Baker agreed that <br />Mr. Jensen ould be an excellent, as well as the others. Benke has <br />not discuss d the appointment with the candidates. <br /> <br />Brandt has ot been contacted by any of the interested candidates <br />and it see s no one is lobbying for this position, but she would <br />support any of the members. <br /> <br />Williams fe t each candidate would do an excellent job and suggested <br />selecting t e most senior member of the Commission; but does feel <br />Steve Jense would be competent. <br /> <br />Motion by B nke, seconded by Larson to APPOINT STEVE JENSEN TO THE <br />RAMSEY COU TY REGIONAL RAILROAD AUTHORITY'S INTERGOVERNMENTAL <br />COMMITTEE A 0 ANNE NORRIS. COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT SPECIALIST, AS THE <br />CITY'S REPR SENTATIVE TO THE TECHNICAL COMMITTEE. <br /> <br />4 Ayes - 0 ayes, Motion Carried <br /> <br />Benke will on tact the Planning Commission members and explain the <br />rationale for the choice; and Anne Norris will check with Ramsey <br />County for aming an alternative designate. <br /> <br />Benke and he Council discussed the League of Minnesota Cities <br />Policies/Pr'orities - 1989 several weeks ago, and he suggested that <br />the Counci give himself and Mr. Sinda, City Manager, blanket <br />approval to speak for the city at the LMC meeting. <br /> <br />Council Business <br /> <br />Ramsey County Lightra <br />Nominations <br />Report 88-323 <br /> <br />LMC Policies/ <br />Priorities - 1989 <br />
