Su jects included are property taxes, fiscal disparities, <br />and tax i nc ement fi nanci ng. The LMC meet i ng wi 11 be held on <br />November 16, 1988, and Benke and Si nda wi 11 be attendi ng. Si nda <br />offered invi ations to the Council to attend the LMC Meeting. <br /> <br />Mot i on by L rson, seconded by Wi 1 1 ; ams. to GIVE DISCUSSIONARY <br />APPROVAL FOR THE LEAGUE OF MINNESOTA CITIES POLICIES/PRIORITIES - <br />1989 TO BOB ENKE, MAYOR. AND HANK SINDA, CITY MANAGER. <br /> <br />4 Ayes - 0 N yes, Motion carried. <br /> <br />Council Business <br /> <br />LMC Policies/ <br />Priorities - 1989 <br /> <br />Items #2 (Ap lication for Renewal of Charitable Gambling License - Gambling License - <br />New Brighto Lions Club) and #7 (Application for Renewal of lion1s Club <br />Charitable G mbling License -Tri City American Legion Post #513) & Tri-City Legion <br />from the Con ent Agenda were presented for discussion by Brandt. <br /> <br />Brandt commented that the 1 ast time a group had app 1 i ed for a <br />charitable g mbling license; the Council enacted a policy to require <br />financial in ormation on these organizations who are seeking these <br />licenses. After seeing these renewals, Brandt said she was <br />surprised to see no other information has been given to the Council. <br /> <br />Benke said he Council woul d ask to see the documents that are <br />submitted to the State Charitable Gambling Board that monitors these <br />organization <br /> <br />Sinda said this financial information does go to the Police <br />Department, nd the Police do review where the funds are going, <br /> <br />Brandt has s me concern of where the funds are going, what portion <br />of funds ar going for administrative expenses, what charitable <br />applications are being used, and how much of the fund is going to <br />charitable a plication. Brandt was disappointed that the Council <br />had not rece'ved this information. <br /> <br />Benke acknow edged that the Council has 60 days to comment on these <br />renewals. an asked Sinda for copies of the financial statements of <br />these organi ation. <br />
