The City staff has Report 88-320 <br />met wi th t e property owners and informed them they woul d be <br />eligible fo relocation benefits from the City. <br /> <br />Benke asked hat is the timetable for the acquisition and relocation <br />process for these property owners. <br /> <br />Mr. Paul D nn, Vice-President of Development, Welsh Companies, <br />explained t e applicant is a light-industrial company presently <br />located in oseville. <br /> <br />Mr. Steve Nichols, tenant, 52 Mounds Street, asked if his <br />business/re idence would be available for relocation benefits, and <br />menti oned he woul d prefer to be moved in the wi nter. Locke <br />acknowledge that Mr. Nichols would be able to receive relocation <br />benefits. <br /> <br />Benke explained, if the agreement is approved, the acquisition <br />process can not be started until a letter of credit is received from <br />the develo er; but the relocation process can be started <br />immediately <br /> <br />Mr. Steve Yempa, resident, 2023 Highway 8, mentioned he is very <br />unhappy wit the way his property is being handled. Mr. Yempa read <br />an article in the New Brighton Bulletin that mentioned his property <br />is going to be bulldozed on March 1, 1989; and is extremely upset <br />with the la k of communication with the City. <br /> <br />Locke expla ned to Mr. Yempa, that he was unaware of this article <br />and found i unfortunate that Mr. Yempa was not contacted before <br />this articl appeared. <br /> <br />Benke expla ned, the processes involved to redevelop an area are <br />very 1 ength and i nvo 1 ved; and the City tri es to keep resi dents <br />apprised of current happenings. <br /> <br />Williams fe ls the City Staff and the property owners should meet <br />as quickly s possible and discuss this issue. <br /> <br />Mr. Dale Ti den, Owner. Liquid Scale, 2430 Mounds Avenue, who had <br />been previo sly moved ten years ago; expressed his dissatisfaction <br />of the lack of relocation assistance from the City. <br />
