Wi 11 i ams woul d strongly <br />support thi proposal, and has found traffic safety hazards arising <br />from the location of the current curb cuts and unloading areas. <br />William would also strongly encourage the owners to prohibit parking <br />adjacent to the building. <br /> <br />Matti 1 a sai due to the traffi c safety concerns by the present <br />unloading a ea, it is suggested to allow the applicant to widen the <br />existing 10 foot sidewalk to 15 feet. Mattila also suggested to <br />expand Long Lake Road adjacent to the unloading area; so trucks may <br />park parallel to the unloading area without extending into the <br />traffic lan The widening of the Long Lake Road would need Ramsey <br />County appr val since Long Lake Road is a County Road. <br /> <br />Williams ve ified that the curb cut to the South would remain, and <br />asked Matti 1 a if the appl i cant has commented on the suggesti ons <br />presented. Mattila said he has not discussed these suggestions with <br />the applica t. <br /> <br />Larson aske if Ramsey County did approve the widening of Long Lake <br />Road; woul this present a problem with after hours parking. <br />~1attila sai there are currently "No Parking" signs on Long Lake <br />Road; and f els upon Ramsey County approval, new "No Parking" signs <br />could be in talled. <br /> <br />Mr. Joel L Vahn, Attorney, who is representing the applicant, <br />encouraged he Council to approve this proposal. <br /> <br />Benke comme ted that this proposal still requires a Ramsey County <br />approval of the resolution for the parking/unloading bay.
