<br />Council Proceedings <br />City of New Brighton <br />.N'ov.~ 12, 1974 <br /> <br />Councilman Eagon asked if anyone was present at the F.A.A. <br />heating. It was explained that no hearing per se was held <br />but that rather the F.A.A. circularized the proposal to <br />various agencies for comment. <br /> <br />Motion by Fisher, seconded by Rebelein to receive <br />determination that no hazard to air navigation from the <br />F.A.A. <br />5 ayes - 0 nayes - carried <br /> <br />4 <br /> <br />Mr. Harold Anderson, resident on Forestdale Road, expressed <br />concern relative to radio interference. <br />Mr. Lee Fielder, 942 Forestdale Road indicated that he had <br />lived on a college campus with a radio tower that did create <br />a problem that was later remedied. He spoke in favor of the <br />request. <br />Mr. Norman Anderson, 2792 Forestdale Road, expressed concern <br />that the college's slides did not show the new construction <br />within the area. <br />Mark Beisswenger, New Brighton Hardware, expressed neither favor <br />nor disfavor of the proposal. <br /> <br />Councilman Rebelein asked what tax revenue would be generated <br />by the proposal. <br />Mr. Erickson indicated that a tax exemption status would <br />probably be requested. <br />Motion by Rebelein, seconded by Anderson to close hearing <br />3 ayes - 2 nayes- (Eagdln,' Fisher) - carried <br />Motion by Bromander, seconded by Rebelein to direct <br />administration to prepare resolution making findings <br />of fact and denying SP-57, such resolution to include the <br />following findings of fact: <br />1. That the towers would be detrimental to the attempt <br />to upgrade the downtown areai <br />2. It would be detrimental to surrounding propertYi <br />3. It would be dangerous to highway surveillance within <br />the areai <br />It may create radio interference within the areai <br />It would become an attriactive nuisancei <br />That the proposal would adversely affect the health, <br />safety and welfare of New Brighton <br />4 ayes - 1 naye (Eagon) - carried <br /> <br />4. <br />5. <br />6. <br /> <br />Close <br />Hearing <br /> <br />SP-57 <br />Denied <br /> <br />Administratic <br />Prepare <br />Resolution <br /> <br />Attorney stated hearing was properly called. . <br />Mr. Gordon Hedlund, petitioner, reviewed the site.
