_r

..

SP-61

-3-

June 24, 1975

Bohling stated that he has trouble with the lack of
landscaping on this side of the property.

Partyka stated that he doesn't believe the variance request
meets the ordinance conditions for granting avar;iance.

Mr.' Bettenberg and Mr.. Dahlke stated their opinion that
the type of landscaping provided in the area is more important
than the width of the lanQscaping strip.

Councilman Rebelein.requested the applicant to document
the fact that the 60' green strip would be ai hardship if it.
had to be provided. He further asked whether a 50', 40' or 30'
~reen strip would also be a hardship as opposed to the 25'
requested.

Mr. Dahlke stated that the particular figure chosen is the
result of a need to be able to park two rows of trailers running
east - west on the site with:anadequate maneuve~ing area between
them. He stated that this will not allow a 60' landscape
strip to be provided. He further stated, however, that he
'would be willing to provide the maximum feasible depth to
the buffer strip.

-
planninq Commission Recommendation 6-l~-75:

Motion by Parham, seconded bY Bohling, to recommend approval
of SP-6l subject to the site being adequately screened from
the residential area to the north and to proviae an attractive
entrance into"the City.

Motion carried, 2-1 (P~rtyka)

Partyka stated that he does not agree with this use in this
specific location.

Chairman Parham asked that the record show that the reasons
for the majority recommendation were that similar uses are
allowed in I-I districts and that this use is compatible with
the I-I zoning.
