<br />PROJECT: <br />CLl ENT: <br /> <br />Jonathan New Town Environmental Assessment <br /> <br />Jonathan Develop~ent Corporation <br /> <br />Jonathan Development Corporation was amending its Project <br />Agreement with HUD, under the New Communities Act. For this <br />reason, and because of the Minnesota Environmental Quality <br />Council regulations, BRW, upon completing the new 1974 Jonathan <br />General Development Plan, was retained to. manage and conduct a <br />comprehensive environmental assessment as required bylaw. <br />Elements 6f the study include: project summary and description; <br />regional characteristics; goals and Dbj~ctives; gnvernmental <br />jurisdictions; climatic conditions; impacts on: land, water <br />quality and hydrology, vegetation, wildlife, natural systems, <br />environmental hazards, regional systems; public facilities <br />including water supply, storm sewage, solid waste, transportation <br />and energy systems; recreation and open space, community <br />facilities and health facilities; and a synopsis 'of adverse <br />enVironmental effects which could llot be avoided. <br /> <br />.. <br /> <br />PROJECT: <br />CLIENT: <br /> <br />OPUS II Environmental Impact Statement <br />Rauenhorst Corporation/City of Minnetonka <br /> <br />The impact of a 450-acre Planned Unit Development on the natural <br />and social environment was analyzed. The project included 1100 <br />dwelling Qnits, 1.8 million square feet of office space, 200,000 <br />square feet of industrial use, and 355,000 square feet of <br />commercial/office space 6n a site in the City of Minnetonka. <br />Exten~ive impact analysis was accomplished for wildlife, slopes, <br />soils, noise, vegetation, and vehicular'air pollution. The <br />Environmental Impact Statement was accepted by the Minnesota <br />Environmental Quality Council at the conclusion of a local <br />hearing conducted by BRW. <br />
