<br /> <br />,;r~'k\'.1'~:' ..-',,, <br /> <br /> <br />RESOLU'l'ION N02078 <br /> <br /> <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />RESOLUTION MAKING FINDINGS OF FACT AND APPROVING APPLICATION <br />FOR SPECIAL USE PERMIT SP-8l, UNDER CERTAIN CONDITIONS. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, an application for a special use permit SP-Sl <br />has been made by Independent School District 621, to permit the <br />former New Brighton Elementary School, 70l 8th Avenue NW., to be <br />used as a community ~esource center, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS the, procedural history of the application is as <br />follows: <br /> <br /> <br />1. That an application for a special use permit SP-8l was <br />filed with the City on June 15, 1978; <br /> <br />2. That the Planning Commission Board of Review heard and <br />reviewed the application at its meeting June 20, 1978; <br /> <br />3. That the City Council, pursuant to published and mailed <br />notices, held a public hearing on July 25, 1978 to <br />consider the application. All persons present at the <br />public hearing were given an opportunity to be heard; <br /> <br />4. The written comments and analysis of the City Planner, <br />the Planning Commission minutes and recomendations and <br />all person's statements made at the Board of Review; <br />meeting were considered. <br /> <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City <br />I New Brighton that the following findings of fact are made in <br />! respect to SP-8l: <br />1 <br />p <br />II <br /> <br />1. <br /> <br />The property is zoned R-1 and the zoning code states <br />that public and private service agencies may be <br />permitted in an R-l district by a special use permit. <br /> <br />2. The proposed comprehensive plan states that in the <br />event the school is closed alternative uses for <br />consideration include a civic center and administrative <br />.. offices. <br /> <br />That the building was designed and built for educational <br />purposes and that the primary use of the building will <br />remain to be for educational purposes. . <br /> <br /> <br />4. That the proposed use as a Community Resource center <br />is desirable for the public convenience and welfare. <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the application for SP-Sl is and <br />hereby approved subject to the following conditions: <br /> <br />1. That the special use permit be reviewed by the City <br />~.. Council one (1) year after adoption of this resolution. <br /> <br />2. That in the event additional parking spaces are warrante , <br />the City Council may require the School District to in- <br />stall the necessary spaces. <br /> <br />this. .Sth ugust. 1975. <br /> <br />
