<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Council Meeting Minutes <br />April 12, 1988 <br /> <br />Brandt agreed and indicated she would not be comfortable approving <br />a major project for this issue at this time. <br /> <br />Aspen Glen representatives assured council its work would be <br />completed this summer. <br /> <br />Williams suggested a swail; Proper stated both the city and the <br />county have some thoughts on v/hat can be done at Birch Pond. <br /> <br />A resident of Birch Pond stated Birch Pond is in agreement that <br />the "temporary" option is best at this time, and it will continue <br />to work on its driveway problem. <br /> <br />Brandt noted the staff report indicated the county will bear the <br />full relocation cost of the catch-basins at such future time as <br />the road is upgraded, but reminded everyone that the county is us, <br />too. <br /> <br />As there were no further questions or comments, Brandt moved, sec- <br />onded by Williams, to CLOSE THE PUBLIC HEARING. <br /> <br />3 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried <br /> <br />Motion by Brandt, seconded by Williams, to DELETE PROJECT 88-9 <br />FROM THE 1988 IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS. <br /> <br />3 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried <br /> <br />Py'oj ect 88-18 <br /> <br />Proper briefly reviewed the staff report concerning the rehabili- <br />tation of certain MSA streets in the city. <br /> <br />As there were no questions or comments, Brandt moved, seconded by <br />Williams, to CLOSE THE PUBLIC HEARING. <br /> <br />With regard to the sags and crests, Williams asked if we could ask <br />for a variance from the standards if the deviations are very minor <br />(but very costly) when there is no danger ft'om a traffic safety <br />point of view; Proper indicated if that were the case, the City <br />would ask for a variance(s). <br /> <br />Benke indicated obtaining a variance from the State is not easy. <br /> <br />Motion by Benke, seconded by Williams, to CONTINUE CONSIDERATION <br />OF PROJECT 88-18 TO THE APRIL 26. 1988.
