I

I

I

Council Meeting Minutes
March 8, 1988

In response to Williams's question regarding staff investigating
the possibilities of utilizing MSA funds on other projects yet
this year, Proper indicated there would not be enough time to go
through the process this year to build anything but can look into
it for next year.

If there is clearly a need on stretches like County Road E or
Highway 8, Williams did not know what would be gained by referring
the matter to the Citizen Study Committee, per Benke's suggestion,
and would prefer to move ahead to see what can be done at the
earliest possible date.

Benke stated his suggestion for referring it to the Committee was
based on the fact that it originally drew up the plan and it may
be the one to get the entire Highway 8 corridor system planned.

Proper indicated the city would be working with the County on
County Road E, and that would involve a lot of time to study the
situation as it will be real complicated.

Gunderman asked that the Committee study sidewalks along Old High-
way 8 from the entrance to Long Lake Park across 1-694 to Olde
Town.

Motion by Williams, seconded by Gunderman, to DIRECT STAFF TO LOOK
INTO THE ENGINEERING AND ADMINISTRATIVE REALITIES OF MOVING OTHER
SIDEWALK PROJECTS (OLD HIGHWAY 8 AND COUNTY ROAD E) AHEAD AS
QUICKLY AS POSSIBLE. POSSIBLY EVEN THIS YEAR.

5 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried
Project 88-23 (Innsbruck Estates Streets and Utilities)

As there was no one present to speak to the issue, Benke moved,
seconded by Williams, to CONTINUE THE PUBLIC HEARING ON 1988 IM-
PROVEMENT PROJECT 88-23 TO APRIL 12. 1988.

5 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried

Project 88-26 (Donatelle Watermain Extension)

As there was no one present to speak to the issue, Williams moved,
seconded by Gunderman, to CONTINUE THE PUBLIC HEARING ON 1988
IMPROVEMENT PROJECT 88-26 TO APRIL 12, 1988.

5 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried

Council Business

Mattila had nothing to add to the staff report for a request for
special permission to construct a single family home on a corner
lot with a side street setback of 15 feet.

Motion by Gunderman, seconded by Larson, to GRANT SPECIAL PERMIS-
SION TO CONSTRUCT A HOME ON LOT 1.
