d
g
PUBLIC' =HEARING
VN-11.3
8: 10 'PM
January 22, 1974
PETITIONER: Standard Oil Company (Fuller Standard Oil)
LOCATION: Palmer Drive and Silver Lake Road
NUMBER OF PROPERTY OWNERS WITHIN 200 FEET OF LOCATIO.LJ: 13
PETITIONER'S REQUEST: Variance from Section 12-0;-0^(i) of the Zoning
Code and Section 1045:.05rx)t ,.the:C ty :Code to
permit a driveway with a width as shown on the
attached plan. The petitioner is also
requesting Council permission for a third
driveway.
ORDINANCE REQUIREMENTS: Section 12-010(i),--
"No entrance to or exit from a parking area
shall be more than 24' in width..."
Section 1045:05 -
"The maximum width of a driveway, as measured
along the curb line, shall be 35 feet unless a
special permit for a greater width is obtained
from the Village Council."
Section 1045:15 --
"The maximum number of driveways to a single
property shall be two (2) unless a special
permit for a greater number is obtained from
the Village Council."
PLANNING CONSIDERATIONS:
This is the same request which was before the Planning Commission
previously for a curb cut permit. It was noted at that time that the
proposed width exceeded Village standards.
The petitioner has redrawn his plans according to the earlier
Planning Commission recommendation and has also requested a variance
for the larger driveway.
There are only two slight deviations from the recommendations:
1. Evergreens along the north side of the property have been
increased to 7 feet rather than 5 feet recommended by the
Planning Commission;
2. The Planning Commission recommended that all plantings on the
site be live rather than artificial. It is unclear from the
revised plan if the plantings in the northwest corner of the
property are intended to be live as recommended. In all other
respects, the recommended changes have been made.
