<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Council Meeting Minutes <br />November 24, 1987 <br /> <br />Mattila briefly reviewed staff report concerning site plan and <br />nonconforming use permit to construct an addition onto an existing <br />commercial structure which is located on a site having Type IV <br />nonconformities. <br /> <br />Gunderman asked about the Planning Commission's original 3-3 split <br />vote; Mattila explained the original concern had to do with pump <br />islands and indicated the most recent Commission recommendation <br />was approved by a majority vote. <br /> <br />Motion by Blomquist, seconded by Williams, to WAIVE THE READING <br />AND ADOPT A RESOLUTION APPROVING NC-83; AND TO APPROVE LP-221 SUB- <br />JECT TO THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS: <br /> <br />1. PROVISION OF A PARAPET WALL ALONG THE SOUTH SIDE OF THE <br />PROPOSED ADDITION TO BE CONSTRUCTED OF ONE-HOUR FIRE RESISTANT <br />MATERIAL; <br />2. PROVISION OF A BUILDING SPRINKLER SYSTEM FOR THE EXISTING AND <br />PROPOSED STRUCTURE; AND <br />3. PROVISION OF A PERFORMANCE BOND IN THE AMOUNT EQUAL TO 100% OF <br />THE ESTIMATED COST TO COMPLETE THE SITE AND LANDSCAPE IMPROVE- <br />MENTS EXCLUSIVE OF THE STRUCTURE. <br /> <br />The applicant had no comments. <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried <br /> <br />Mattila briefly reviewed staff report concerning a street sideyard <br />setback variance and site plan review to construct a solarium ad- <br />dition onto an existing building fifteen feet from the Long Lake <br />Road right-of-way. <br /> <br />Benke asked if the exterior treatment on the proposed addition <br />would be consistent with the existing building; Mattila stated it <br />would and indicated the dumpster would be incorporated into the <br />storage addition. <br /> <br />In response to Williams's comment, Mattila indicated the applicant <br />has agreed to remove both the inflatables and one banner in order <br />to comply with the sign ordinance. <br /> <br />Motion by Gunderman, seconded by Blomquist, to WAIVE THE READING <br />AND ADOPT A RESOLUTION APPROVING VN-261; AND TO APPROVE LP-222, <br />SUBJECT TO THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS: <br /> <br />1. APPROVAL OF VN-261; <br />2. INSTALLATION OF ADDITIONAL LANDSCAPING AROUND EXISTING PATIO; <br />3. PROVISION OF LIGHTING ALONG ENTRANCE/EXIT DRIVEWAYS; <br />4. ESTABLISH A FIVE-FOOT LANDSCAPED STRIP BETWEEN THE EXISTING <br />PARKING AREA AND THE NORTH PROPERTY LINE; AND <br />5.
