He noted that they. are now being asked to give <br />up the protection of the buffer.. strip and stated his- objet ion,~to <br />this request: <br />Mx'. Norman Brunn, 509 4th Ave. NW, stated his opposition to <br />granting the 25 foot buffer strip and stated. that .he was in favor <br />~of maintaining the buffer strip at 60 feet. <br />In~replies to questions regarding the hours of operation,: <br />Mr. Dahlke noted that they are open .from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM and <br />that they n-ay be open on saturdays. <br />Bohling asked if the applicant had talked to~the property owner <br />to the south regarding the possibility of buying additional <br />property in that location in order to be able to provide the 60 <br />foot buffer strip. <br />Mr. Dahlke stated that he had not. <br />Bohling stated that he appreciated the good faith effor shown <br />by the applicant in revising his plans but that he would like to <br />go farther and see if the property can be developed without a <br />variance. <br />At the request of the Chairman, the Building and Planning Coordinat: <br />explained that under City ordinances a property developed according <br />to code can provide a,60 foot landscaped strip which contains no , <br />landscaping other than seeding or sodding and that this may not' , <br />provide an adequate buffer. <br />Mrs. Carol walmsley, 521 4th Ave. NW, stated that the property <br />could be as attractively landscaped as is proposed still having the <br />60 foot buffer strip. <br />Planning Commission Recommendation 7-15=-75: <br />Motion by Anderson, seconded by Fredrickson, to recommend <br />approval of VN-140 with the following conditions: <br />
