r <br />-5- Oct. 19, 1976 <br />Councilman Hardt asked how wide the new lot would be at its widest <br />point. <br />NTro Peterson stated the lot t~aould be 12.5 feet in width at its. <br />maximum :width. <br />Councilman Hardt asked which way the new house would face. <br />i~r. Peterson indicated the house would face the. lake. <br />Councilman Hardt asked if there were any barriers between the ,lots. <br />Mr. Peterson noted that there is a row. of pines-separating his <br />father's property and. the lot to the. easto <br />she City Planner noted. that any homes constructed. in the area <br />would have to have a basement. elevation of at Least 3 feet higher <br />than the regional flood level of Long .Lake. <br />Mr. Peterson indicated-.that a drawing. was being prepared showing <br />`this elevation. where the home could. be: located. Mr. Peterson <br />said his intention is just. to divide this rather unusualparcel <br />-in a manner in which he can also build-a house. Mr. Peterson <br />also indicated that they hs.d,talked to the neighbor. to the east. <br />and that the neighbor had not e~ipressed any .objections: <br />Fredrickson stated that she felt there w~~s a legitimate concern for <br />traffic. `Fredrickson noted that traffic .near this .curve is <br />dangerous . <br />Councilman Hardt asked if. there could. be just one driveway. <br />l~~.r. Peterson indicated that this could be done but that an easement <br />-would be necessary. <br />Partyka said that he sees no problem with the two driveways. Partyka <br />noted that common driveways can create problems in terms of access <br />rights and maintenance. <br />Fredrickson stated that she felt there would be problems in getting <br />financing for the house if there is not a separate driveway. <br />Fredrickson also noted that she was uncomfortable with the odd. <br />shaped parcels.. <br />Partyka stated. that. he saw no problem wzth the shape of the lot. <br />Partyka said that this was a rather unique parcel which is the <br />aftermath of a number of other events and that he felt this way a <br />good way to handle the problem. <br />
