<br />Council Meeting Minutes <br />February 24, 1987 <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Bauer invited Mayor and Councilmembers to the Fire Station imme- <br />diately prior to the March 10, 1987, council meeting to see the <br />fire pumper. <br /> <br />Concerning the staff report for a half-ton pick-up truck for the <br />Fire Department, Bauer clarified the amount shown for a ~trade- <br />in~ at !ten Chevrolet should have been listed as ~discount.~ <br /> <br />Motion by Gunderman, seconded by Williams, to ACCEPT THE LOW <br />QUOTE FROM ITEN CHEVROLET FOR $9,927.00 FOR A HALF-TON PICK-UP <br />TRUCK FOR THE FIRE DEPARTMENT. <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried <br /> <br />Berger introduced Tom Bergstrom, Chairperson of the Citizen <br />Study Committee. Bergstrom reviewed the proposed new format for <br />the Town Hall Meeting to be held on Saturday, March 21, 1987. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Following a discussion, it was determined there would be four <br />small group topics: Developing Community Leadership, Pride, and <br />Identity; Development and Redevelopment; Parks, Recreational <br />Activities, and the Arts; and City Services (Public Safety/Fire/ <br />Police). It was further determined that the responsibility of <br />recording/reporting each small group would be that of the Citizen <br />Study Committee. <br /> <br />Williams suggested Senator Novak, Representative Knuth, and <br />Metropolitan Council Representative Wiger, be officially invited <br />to attend the Meeting and that their names be added to the Town <br />Hall mailing list. <br /> <br />Eagan had no additional comments to the staff report concerning <br />an ordinance amending the City Code pertaining to the licensing <br />of contractors. <br /> <br />Williams asked if New Brighton would be consistent with other <br />communities; Egan stated the fee and the insurance requirements <br />are consistent with other communities and added that it coincides <br />nicely with the construction season and the dates do not cause a <br />problem for insurance purposes. <br /> <br />Motion by Gunderman, seconded by Williams, to WAIVE THE READING <br />AND HOLD THE FIRST READING OF AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION <br />7-31, 7-35, 7-36, AND 7-37 OF THE CITY CODE PERTAINING TO THE <br />LICENSING OF CONTRACTORS. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried <br /> <br />Page Six <br /> <br />Purchase: Fi re <br />Department's <br />Half-Ton Pick-Up <br />Truck <br />Report 87 -59 <br /> <br />Town Hall <br />Meeting <br />Report 87-60 <br /> <br />Ordinance Amendment <br />First Reading <br />7-31, 7-35, 7-36, <br />and 7-37 <br />Report 87-61 <br />
