MINUTES 4 May 4, 1981 - <br />3. The Commission requests that statements regarding Spring Lake Park Reserve <br />on page III-206 of the. Program be corrected as described in the attached <br />-staff review. <br />Motion carried. <br />Stefferud also. spoke briefly on the public boat Paunch guide copies of which <br />were given to the Commission. He said it was produced as a point effort <br />between the Metropolitan Council, Department of Natural Resources (DNR), State <br />Planning Agency, and the Department of Economic Development. Forty-three <br />thousand have been printed, and the guide lists 111 public access sites in the <br />Metropolitan Area. Copies will be available to the seven county libraries, the <br />cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul libraries, as well as a phone-in request <br />line at DNR. The 10 implementing agencies will also have copies. News <br />releases will be sent out to the local papers, broadcasts made on radio <br />stations, and perhaps a public service announcement on Channel 11. The total <br />cosh of the brochure, including staff time, was about $6,500. This is the <br />first. time something like this has been done, and they are hoping to continue <br />the publication in the future. <br />Perovich stated that there are at least two or three cities besides St, Paul <br />and Minneapolis that have their own public library. Anoka is one of these, and <br />he recommended having copies available at these libraries also. Stefferud said <br />copies will be made. available to them; however, for the purposes, of <br />advertising,., the term seven-county libraries was used along with the DNR phone <br />number. <br />AMENDMENT TO ACQUISITION GRANT CONTRACT FOR CLEARY LAKE REGIONAL PARK '~~~~~` <br />Wirtanen moved approval of the recommendation and was seconded by Lynch.. <br />"That the Metropolitan Council authorize an amendment to the acquisition. grant <br />contract for Cleary Lake Regional Park to increase the grant amount by $7,291." <br />Motion carried. <br />AMENDMENT TO ACQUISITION GRANT CONTRACT, MURPHY-HANREHAN PARK RESERVE <br />Svendsen moved approval of the recommendation and was seconded by Wirtanen. <br />"That the Metropolitan Council authorize an amendment to the acquisition grant <br />contract for Murphy-Hanrehan Park Reserve District to increase the grant by <br />$251,488 to a new total of $6,068,488." <br />Motion carried. <br />AMENDMENT TO ACQUISITION GRANT CONTRACT FOR BATTLE CREEK REGIONAL PARK <br />Banitt moved approval of the recommendation and was seconded by Bosanko. <br />"That the Metropolitan Council authorize amendment of the acquisition grant <br />contract for Battle Creek Regional Park to increase the grant by $699.08 and to <br />`~~ , <br />permit reimbursement to Ramsey County for the acquisition of the Yost <br />property." <br />Motion carried. <br />
