Long Lake Ice Clean Up <br />Olson stated that one of her girl scouts is doing a gold program, <br />which is performing some service to the community. 'She wants to <br />organize the cleanup of Long Lake by contacting groups. Olson <br />wants approval from the Park Board .and Council to organize this <br />activity. This person would make a presentation to the Park <br />Board at the next. meeting.. <br />Schmidt said last spring there were some people from Long Lake <br />in the manager's office complaining about the problem. <br />Olson said she doesn~t know how much can be done but would like <br />to do part of it - at least cut down.. <br />Van Batten said this is what he had mentioned at a previous meeting. <br />Olson said she will need containers. <br />Anderson said he will take care of that need. <br />Olson asked if Council approval was necessary. <br />Schmidt said no. But she may want some recognition. <br />Anderson said it may be needed. The Council referred this item <br />to the. Park Board so.we should at least let the Council know what <br />we intend. <br />Dahl said. we can listen to the presentation and then take it from <br />there. <br />VI. Old Business <br />A. Criteria for Use of Donations <br />Dahl talked about .single donation being used for a single item - <br />not to be coupled to use as something toward a large item. <br />Johnson said we may use if we set. up a fund. for donations.. <br />Dahl said it could be worded "when possible" single donation <br />with. single item. <br />Gunderman said he doesn~t know why we don't want something. <br />non-consumable. <br />Carlson asked him if he had an example. <br />Gunderman-said someone offered $1,000 for media center in the <br />school just. to keep it operating. Also-something along the line <br />of puppet wagon. <br />
