Long Lake Park Study Committee Report <br />Dahl said the. committee will try to have. the master plan ready by <br />the December Park Board meeting, Will be discussing .the facilities <br />planned in the concept plan. Will discuss each item. Worked on <br />goals at the last meeting and .also talked about the beach. .The <br />next meeting will be to discuss the boat launch and fishing. The <br />following meeting wily on picnic facilities and the following <br />Meeting on camping/trails/nature interpretive center. Have and <br />will call in specialized people for these meetings. Les Proper <br />attended the last meeting and Ren Simons has been present at each <br />meeting. The Park .Board members will continue to get the minutes <br />of these meetings. Each group has been. represented at the meetings <br />but there has been absenteeism.- <br />It was discussed how thorough the committee minutes should be. <br />Gunderman asked if it would be possible to-hire a staff person <br />to take minutes. Olson and Dahl did not feel extensive minutes <br />were .necessary. <br />Anderson said he did not feel it was appropriate to hire a staff <br />person since these meetings were primarily intended as work sessions. <br />Dahl does not foresee any major changes to the concept: plan. <br />-Dahl said the beach will be cut into (horseshoe shape)- because of <br />the problem-with the depth of the water where the beach is planned. <br />Talked about what will be seem in the bathhouse- multi-season use; <br />in the winter it can be used for cross country ski rental and in <br />the summer for a bathhouse,.. <br />Carlson said they haven't worried-about motions - just gone with <br />the consensus of the group. <br />Dahl said the screening of the beach area from residents on the <br />lake had been.. talked about. <br />Johnson stated he liked the better verbalized minutes. <br />Carlson asked if the meetings were taped,. would it be easier? <br />Dahl and Anderson responded no. <br />V. New Business <br />A. Pat Commers - Long Lake Park. Alternatives <br />Pat Commers, representative of .the Long Lake Improvement Association, <br />read'a letter she had prepared to the Park Board,. She stated that <br />154 people joined the Long Lake Improvement Association and 5 people <br />chose not to. P~lembers of the Assn. have challenged the 'Park Board <br />and Planning Commission on the issue of the proposed parks. The <br />L.L.I.A, was formed 10 years ago and have been involved with: <br />
