August 13,.1981 Park Board Minutes Page 3 Anderson said no it should fit right in with our regular muting. Dahl asked what committee members will be provided with for background materials. Anderson said the committee will meet with Ken Simons, Ramsey County, and .Jack Moritz., Met Council,. to .find out what the committee's desires .are. Want the committee to talk:to the planners. Jack is not a planner on the project .but he will be reviewing the. plan for Metro Council. Carlson asked if the process was that the commit ee would-come up with a plan and then the Park Board would approve it. Anderson said Ken Simons will draft the plan, The committee may disagree with the plan and if Simons will not-change, it may come to the Park Board without concensus. Carlson said the subcommittee will make the recommendation for the plan and then the Park Board will recommend to the Council. Anderson said the committee may want to meet with the Park Board half way through the process.- Anderson said Simons is a good planner. He has been. to the last three Council meetings to get a flavor of what is going on. Johnson asked if Ramsey County has some guidelines, Anderson said yes but things have changed. This will have an impact on the plan. Carlson asked if the Park Board should create a check list of ingredients we think should be discussed in the plan or let the committee do it. Anderson said no. Met Council has a set of standards for regional parks. Carlson said he just wanted to make sure nothing important was left out. Anderson said the Statement of Understanding hopefully has all the concerns that the City has that other master plans do not have. The County has agreed to that. Think we have everything we need. B. 1982 - 87 CIP Anderson said he was asked to get CIP into the Manager. to be in- cluded in the budget. .Took plan that was approved last year and increased some prices. Things that didn't get done last year. got pushed ahead.
