May 6, .1951 Park Board Minutes <br />Page 8 <br />Motion by Carlson, .seconded by Van Hatten, that the Park Board, <br />recognizing the City's traditional commitment to excellence, re- <br />quests that the entire $3,000 donation be utilized for labor., <br />materials and sound system for a puppet wagon. Motion passed. <br />All.. ayes. <br />Johnson thinks that .some of the information that was presented. tonight <br />(list of other communities that have puppet wagons, the positive <br />impact on a park program, the current lack of cultural events) should. <br />be presented to the Council. This changed his opinion of a puppet <br />wagon to totally support it. <br />Carlson stated he would like to attend the Council meeting to ex- <br />press his positive reaction to a puppet wagon; however he has <br />other commitments that evening. <br />Gunderman stated he would attend.. <br />VII. Announcements <br />A. Board and Commission Workshop 6/30/81 <br />Anderson said he spoke with the City Manager.-and he stated the City <br />will pick up the tab.. There will be a good speaker. The cost. is <br />$25.00. <br />Johnson mentioned that last year at this time we recommended to <br />the Council .that thank .you letters be sent out to the-5coutsfor <br />their help with Long Lake clean-up. <br />Motion by Johnson, seconded by Van Hatten, to recommend to the <br />Council that thank you letters be sent to the Scouts for their <br />help with the Long Lake clean up. Motion passed. <br />Gunderman stated a list of appropriate items for the Council should <br />be drawn up for gift donations. <br />VIII. Adjournment <br />Meeting adjourned at 9:55 p.m, <br />
