•
•

Lonq Lake Park. Update _2, - April 15,.1980
An interesting development :has occurred in a situation very similar
to New Brighton's. The City Qf Eden. Prairie: bought land in the late
1960's with a combination o~ HUQ{ Lawton and city fuzlds.` This land
was eventually designated as a regional park and was to be combined
with land owned by Hennepin County and the City of Bloomington to
form the Anderson Lakes Regional Park. At this time it appears
certain that Metro Council will "buy out" Eden Prairie's interest
in the site and turn-it osier to Hennepin County. Eden prairie has
$200,000 - $3QO,OOQ tAudit pending)- of its own money. in the site.
Bloomington has; decided to retain its ownership of their portipn
of the park,
The City has almost unlimited options at this point and t appears
that by mid to late summer most or all options will be available
and many of the present uncertainties will be removed.
reviewed this report and '
have:
No comments to
Supplen~Ent the
recommendation. _ ~"
~`" .
Attached wrift2n
Comments l0
supplement the
recommendation.
N I e d o ' .~. ---
Date City M ger
