Anderson said.it was not. the intention to decrease the size of-the skating area in any:. way. McKee stated she would like people. to come and watch how people turn onto 5th from 16th. Sylvester akked if there were any way to keep people from.. making the full circle on.the dual entrance proposal. Anderson said yes it could be changed in the design... Carol Sylvester stated she objected to the whole thing and was ds- appointed. that. the residents did not receive a notice of this meeting. She felt it would have been more effective if they had. She objects to the fact that the dual entrance/exit was brought up again. At the last meeting she asked if there was anything new that prompted this to be brought. up again and there wasn't. These people have missed something. They have done too much-pol-t.cking, This has been a terrific waste of time. Many Park Board members did not do their homework and didn~t know many things about the Hansen area. She feels the dual entrance/exit, is a safety problem and she will have all the overflow parking on her street and Mayor Senden will have none. Darle Sylvester asked how many people present were in favor of the dual entrance.- There is no one here tonight to express support for the dual entrance. Carol Hansen asked if there would be a decision made at this meeting. Gunderman stated he did not know - it depends on .the pleasure of the. Park Board. A resident asked if the Park Board .represents .the people in this community. Johnson said we are an. advisory board to the Council:. Gunderman stated we have always tried to be representative of the community. Carol Sylvester said that even though this is an advisory board. the Council has final decision and` we may have to go through this again. McKee asked how the Hansen Park project would be funded. Anderson said partially through federal revenue sharing and also liquor store revenues. Van Hatten stated concern with the...number of parking spaces, In light of what has .been discussed he feels that,tY~e lot should hold at least 100..cars.. Johnson stated it was previously decided that 75-84 cars were sufficient.
