Van Hatten suggested that the hockey rinks be moved side ways and a soccer field could be used there. Dahl stated the rinks are lighted and it would be too costly to move. Johnson-asked if it would not be possible then to use the. free skating rink for a soccer field in the summer. Anderson said it would be possible because those are the only two things it would be used for. Resident Harcus-contributed pictures taken. of the Hansen Park parking lot showing the parking problem, how it is not util- ized and how narrow 16th Avenue is. Motion by Dahl, seconded by Olson, to accept the pictures. Motion passed. Harcus stated again that he is opposed to the new entrance but in favor of most everything else.. He likes the first drawing the best and feels that we should shoot for 70 car. parking. Harcus felt it may be a good idea to have an in- formation session at the shelter building for residents. He realizes this plan doesn't agree with the Mayor's wishes and that he has the power to cut off funding. Harcus said he will volunteer to hand out flyers. The Park Board stated there really wasn't much time .for that and that this park board meeting was suppose to serve that purpose. Dahl said she would like the proposed play area moved west~So there is an unused .area around the shelter. She also ex- pressed.concern-with the play area being close to the parking lot. Anderson said there has never been a problem with the play area there. Resident Sylvester asked if there-was a curfew in the park.. Anderson said yes, 11:00 p.m. He added that a sign would be put up by the tennis lights askingpeople not to use lights after 11:00 p.m. We could put a timing device on, but it would cost about $300.00-$400.00.
