Minutes <br />Page 3 <br />Van Hatten stated the Park Board should stand with the position <br />it started with and have control of the park. <br />Olson stated she was in agreement with the other Park.Board <br />member's comments. <br />Gunderman stated he plans to send a personal letter to Council <br />members stating how. he feels. <br />Motion by Olson, seconded by Carlson, to accept .the letter com- <br />posed by Dahl, to the Council from the Park Board re: Long-Lake. <br />Motion passed. <br />B. Misc. 1980 Capital Improvement Expenditures <br />Anderson explained that there is $15,000 in miscellaneous capital <br />improvement to be spent in 1980. Anderson stated he would .like <br />to use this money to finish up some capital improvements this <br />year that are nearly completed. <br />Johnson asked when the west parking lot at .Hansen will be done. <br />Anderson stated the issue will be brought back to the Board for. <br />action this summer. <br />Anderson said he would. like to comment on Long Lake clean up. <br />Van Hatten asked if it would be full time employees hired for <br />the clean up. <br />Anderson stated two part-time people. <br />Van Hatten asked how .the wood to be given away would be handled, <br />he was concerned that it be in an orderly manner. <br />Anderson stated he would supervise the clean up program. <br />Motion by Gunderman, seconded by Van Hatten, to approve the Long <br />Lake. clean up project as submitted.- Motion passed. <br />C. Park and Recreation Questionnaire <br />Anderson explained to the Park Board that the questionnaire is <br />intended to go in the June City. Hall Newsletter. It will be used <br />as a planning tool for the Comprehensive Park Plan. Anderson <br />feels they'1.1 be able to get some-kind of indication of what <br />people are looking for in .the. Park. and Recreation system. The <br />intent of the questionnaire will be listed in the newsletter. <br />Johnson asked if the survey would have postage on it. <br />Anderson responded yes. <br />Gunderman stated he was concerned that what happened with the <br />Long Lake survey may happen again with this survey. <br />Anderson stated that in .the Long Lake Survey there was a problem <br />with the word "passive" park. <br />
