May 7, 1980 Park Board Minutes
Page 4
Anderson asked the Park Board if they were comfortable with the
questions asked on the Long Lake section of the questionnaire.
Dahl stated she was concerned with some of the wording. Questions
A & B are not clear.
It was suggested that perhaps A, B and C could be summarized.
Dahl felt the word "Control" could be used in place of "Retain."
Anderson stated he wants to find out what residents feel without
telling them what has already been discussed.
Gunderman stated there is a high risk in doing that.
Anderson stated he understands that.
Gunderman asked if there was anyway to move the Long Lake question
up to the first part of the survey.
Anderson stated he felt that it fits best where it is.
Olson agreed with Anderson.
It was suggested that #1 list all the parks so that the individual
could check one rather than write it in.
D. Community Leaders Workshop
Van Hatten felt the dinner and workshop didn't need to be right
next to each other.
Anderson stated the Citizen Study Committee plans to have a workshop
in February and it may be a luncheon.
Dahl felt the end of the morning would have been a good time to con-
tinue discussions with people started earlier.
Dahl stated passive groups (.non-sport) were discussed. One sugges-
tion was more open gym time.
E. Fencing at Sunny Square
Anderson stated he had received a phone call from a resident re-
questing fencing along the railroad tracks at Sunny Square. The
resident felt there was danger of someone fielding a ball on the
tracks. Shortly after receiving that call he received a call from
the Homeowners Association stating they did not want a fence.
Bob Benke asked that the Park Board be aware of this. No action
was taken.
VI. Old Business
A. Joint Powers Agreement Highview
Gunderman stated there had been some revisions in the Highview Joint
Powers Agreement and Dr. Christenson and John Ostlund were present
to discuss these.
