There will not be problems <br />if ordinance etc. is reasonable. Right now the lake surface use <br />ordinance is unreasonable according to homeowners. <br />Gunderman stated the .Park Board is willing to work with Long ..Lake <br />residents... <br />Benke stated everyone is willing to .move .and get something done. <br />Anderson,should get status report done as soon as possible. <br />It was suggested that a report on park improvement occassionally <br />be included in the minutes. <br />Senden-asked when Hansen will be seeded or sodded. <br />Anderson. stated it was seeded last fall:. All it needs now is warm <br />weather. The entrances have been fenced off with ~ snow fence. <br />Senden asked if "Keep Off' signs would be helpful? <br />Anderson said probably no. It.may help somewhat but it doesn't <br />hurt that much_ Cars and motorcycles are the .main problems. Have <br />never had to do it previously. <br />Westling commented that he would like to get Long. Lake going. <br />Grimshaw agreed with moving .on the Long Lake project. <br />What will Metro Council do if the County backs out? <br />Anderson said that Metro Council may go to legislature and re- <br />quest permission to create a special-park district run. by Metro <br />or to allow DNR to operate regional parks in Ramsey County. He <br />also felt that he County would probably not want to see this <br />occur. <br />It was asked if New Brighton could operate the park. <br />Anderson said the City probably could not afford to run it. <br />Carlson asked what the timeline on fencing and. c lean up of the <br />Long Lake site. was. <br />Anderson said it was turned down by Metro Council a year ago. <br />The Council ha.s allocated $5,000 for clean up. Signs are being <br />posted now to keep people off of the park. <br />Polzak wanted to make sure that the Council and. Park Board recog- <br />nized the fact that thoughts of homeowners be considered, such <br />as high speed boats. Years-ago homeowners paid for doing`-tests <br />on the water. Residents are very concerned. Homeowners Hunt to <br />be informed. <br />Gunderman assured him they would be informed. <br />
